She's gone now, moved her out back to the States yesterday, thank Merlin. I can breathe easier now, knowing she's out of harm's way. I just hope she has the sense now to stay away from this blasted dangerous country.

I wonder if I should phone my father and tell him what happened...I don't know how he'd react, if he'd brush it off, tell me he was right, or be concerned about her. She still loves him, I know she does; maybe he would visit her and make sure she's alright.

Thank you, all of you. From the depths of my soul, thank you. I'll be moving me mum back to the States when she's well enough.

I think I've seen enough pink and red in the hallways to last until next Valentine's Day. Not that I mind it, t'is just a lot of two colours in one week. Thank goodness the decorations come down tomorrow after the social tonight. Unfortunately, I'll likely be one to take it all down.

[Rabastan]
I was wondering if you had plans for tonight. And tomo

Is it wrong to find a little happiness when there's something wrong? Is it wrong of me to do things I enjoy when the person I love most is missing? I feel like I'm betraying her.

I've no idea what I was worried about in returning to the school this term. Me students have been nothing short of angels so far, and though I don't want to jinx it, I hope it continues. I think some of them have made resolutions to do better, and I've only encouraged that. Has been a tiring week, however easy. T'is difficult to get back into the swing of things after the Christmas holidays.

I'd forgotten just how much I missed her, even when she annoys. Her laughter is like a bell and it just brightens up me day. I'll miss her tremendously when she goes back. I should go see her during the summer.

I hate running out of milk in the middle of baking. T'is not much of equal annoyance.

Lordy, grant me thine divine patience.

[Private to the Order*]
Me mam's in town for Christmas, and she thinks it's entirely unnatural for my flat to be empty, so she's forcing me into a holiday party at my flat on Wednesday. T'is late notice, I know and I'm sorry, but she won't relent. She said to invite more than seven people and since I don't particularly know more than seven people who aren't my students or fellow teachers, I am inviting the lot of you. So if you haven't got anything else to do, coming round my place at 7 on Wednesday would be much appreciated.

*ooc: as hestia was distracted by her mother, this hex is rather shoddy and can be easily broken, so replying under the hex also makes the conversation vulnerable to interception

There's a snowman in me front that wasn't there yesterday.

She'll be here on Monday and stay through the first. Your offer to ward still valid? Can we do it tomorrow?

I can't even believe that just happened. I feel a right eejit, asking him to do that and go with me to Lucile's. She wouldn't have done anything, I know that, but I wanted him to see him again and - ah, fecking eejit, I can't believe I made him do that! Shite, I've got to apologise now and hope he's not too embarrassed.

[Rabastan]
I am so sorry.

I can't thank you enough for the book and the help with the snow. I should warn you though, me neighbors had plenty to say about you. Lucile, the cheeky one peeking through her curtains at us, told me to bring you round and introduce you to her or she'd never bake me another batch of her Christmas cookies ever again (by the way she left me a plate "to drive to you") and I'm afraid she means it, which would be awful because she makes the best cookies ever, so could you possibly do me another favour and drop by again sometime soon? I'd be ever so grateful.

Thank you again, Rabastan, for the book and the rescue; I owe you now. Anything I can do to repay you, let me know, aye? Anything at all, except for your maths homework; you'll never learn it if you don't do it yourself.

The snow melted enough to venture out, but overnight it froze again, so I phoned in; one of me neighbors had decided to leave anyways, and her car ended up in someone's fence. Think I'll learn from her example and stay home, thank you. Dunno why they didn't cancel school again, but could be because they think if the buses and the chains on their wheels can travel safely, so can the rest of us. T'is obviously not the case, but what can one do?

One can stay inside and read in front of the fire for a second day in a row, that's what. Haven't taken a day off since starting last year, and I have to admit t'is something I should do more often; t'was very relaxing. But now I've to fix me lesson plans, so I suppose I'll go and do that now.
